As a lifelong resident of the village, I believe in giving back my time, energy, and knowledge whenever possible. In my capacity as an Assistant Prosecutor, I have conducted several training sessions for the Lexington Police Department to update officers on new developments in the law. I also volunteer as a legal advisor for the Lexington High School Mock Trial team.

I am currently the only female representative on Council, and the only female candidate. As a woman, I feel that I bring a different perspective to issues that come before Council, and I will continue to represent the best interests of women and families within our community.

In my first term on village Council, I served on the Streets and Sidewalks Committee (chairwoman, 2008), the Rules and Personnel Committee (chairwoman, 2009), and the Buildings and Grounds Committee. I am also currently the Council Parliamentarian. As a member of the Streets and Sidewalks committee, I participated in the planning for the 2008 and 2009 street resurfacing and snow removal programs. I also regularly attended other committee meetings in an effort stay informed, particularly with regard to the 4.2 million dollar expansion of the wastewater treatment plant which will be completed in the fall of 2009.

If re-elected, I will:

• Be available and responsive to the needs and concerns of all village residents, and will promote efficient and transparent government
• Strive to maintain the character and property values in the village by encouraging consistent and diligent and enforcement of zoning, sign, and property maintenance codes
• Continue to maintain a high level of village services, including snow removal, spring clean-up, leaf collection, park maintenance, and other public works projects while always looking for ways to improve efficiency.
• Provide public works and safety forces with the tools and resources needed to safely and efficiently accomplish their jobs and maintain the low crime rate in the village.
• Encourage and support the expansion of existing local businesses and work to attract new businesses to the Village in order to relieve the tax burden on village residents.
• Promote a fiscally conservative budget by avoiding unnecessary capital equipment purchases, but also setting aside funds to repair or replace older equipment when the need arises
